REPORTED FACTS

Pampa Energía is one of Argentina’s leading integrated energy companies. It generates electricity through thermal, hydroelectric and wind power plants, participates in electricity and gas transmission, and also explores for and produces oil and gas, alongside some petrochemical activities.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

Pampa stood out for very strong operational growth, a low valuation and repeated purchases by Marcos Mindlin. Revenue was growing more than 50%, 75% and production almost 30%, while was around 6–8x.

The discount came with reasons: Argentina, currency, economic policy, and earlier insider selling warranted a meaningful penalty. The opportunity balanced those known risks against a fast-growing business and repeated insider purchases.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

Marcos MindlinChairmanNot supplied

Reported total: US$6,620,000.00Single insider purchase

Mindlin bought approximately US$4.34 million on 18–19 August and a further US$2.28 million on 21 August. On 31 August he bought another 500,000 ordinary shares, at an approximate equivalent of US$86 per .

The repeated pattern mattered more than a single isolated transaction.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

Strong revenue, and production growth coincided with repeated purchases by Mindlin. The new purchase on 31 August added evidence to the thesis, with low valuation balanced against Argentine risk and earlier insider sales.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

Pampa combines electricity generation with oil and gas production, including significant exposure to Vaca Muerta.

Q2 revenue was approximately US$746 million, up 53%; adjusted around US$415 million, up 75%; production 107,500 boe/d, up 28%; and attributable profit around US$172 million.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

Rincón de Aranda and Vaca Muerta can continue to increase volumes and efficiency. This is a growth thesis that differs substantially from a typical traditional utility.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

was approximately 7–8x, 6–8x and around 0.35.

Few companies in the Radar had such an aggressive combination of growth and low valuation.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

This component prevents a higher score. Earlier insider sales were significant, so the recent purchases are not treated as evidence of uninterrupted accumulation.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

1. Vaca Muerta

Higher production can expand the operating scale of the business.

2. Rincón de Aranda

The ramp-up and project maturation can increase and cash generation.

3. Argentine risk

An improvement in perceived risk could reduce the discount embedded in valuation.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

1. Policy and regulation

Changes in Argentine economic, regulatory and currency conditions can alter profitability and access to capital.

2. Commodities

Lower prices can reduce cash generation even if the assets retain their underlying quality.

3. Capital spending and debt

High investment requirements and debt make financing access important. More difficult financing could delay projects and weaken the thesis.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

The chart showed a broad consolidation between US$73 and US$90. Main support was US$78–80, with structural support at US$72–73.

The decisive resistance area was US$88.70–90.20. A breakout could open a path towards US$97.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

The monthly trend remained broadly constructive despite the stock’s characteristic volatility. This supported a stronger technical assessment than cases such as DKS or MNR.

Monthly reading: broadly constructive structure with substantial volatility.

ANALYSIS / INTERPRETATION

PAM qualified as 9+ because growth and valuation offset a meaningful portion of the political and macroeconomic risk, while the insider purchases were repeated and materially relevant.

This is not a low-risk company. Insider History and Risk/Balance receive lower scores than in several other cases. Looking only at the final score would hide those weaknesses.
